The Ampol Show was a popular game-show programme during the 1950s, hosted by the legendary radio personality Jack Davey. Sponsored by the well-known petrol brand, the programme was broadcast through Sydney radio station 2GB and featured “Yes/No” quizzes, mystery melodies, tongue twisters and limericks that narrowed the competition down to two finalists who would compete for a jackpot.
