Historical Information

Huon Road travels South-West out of Hobart to a little mountain town called Fern Tree. Up until the 1830s, the village of Fern Tree could only be reached by a rough track. In 1830 the first Huon Road was built, starting at the Sandy Bay Rivulet, through to Fern Tree and on into the southwest.
