Founded just 3 years earlier, the Australian Ballet had just finished touring Canberra and were preparing for their first-ever overseas tour when they appeared on a special feature edition of the BP Super Show in July 1965.
Across the country people tuned in to the BP Super Show to watch prima ballerina, Kathleen Gorham, dance four pas de deux, from The Display, Yugen, Giselle, and Pas Classique, with Garth Welch, Bryan Lawrence and Karl Wellander under the expert guidance of artistic directors Peggy Van Praag and Robert Helpmann.
