Broadcast on 29 January 1966, this episode of the Australian pop music series Bandstand departs from the usual format of the show to present a 1964 British TV special called “Don’t Knock the Rock”. Performers include Little Richard, The Shirelles, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Sounds Incorporated.
An interesting mix of ‘Don’t Knock The Rock’ and ‘It’s Little Richard’ two UK specials from 1964 and 1963 respectively. Sadly the Little Richard performances suffers from having the awful Jimmy Savile in the audience (along with Coronation Street’s Jenny Moss, who played Lucille Hewitt, I hope she didn’t suffer any abuse from Savile)
