Jack Benny in Australia, March 1964

The Jack Benny Program, starring Jack Benny, was a radio-TV comedy series that ran for more than three decades in America. Jack Benny had been a familiar figure in Australia since the mid-to-late 1930s with his radio show, and after a successful tour of Sydney and Melbourne, he made a special program, filmed at The Theatre Royal in Sydney, for ATN-7 in March 1964.

In this special feature, Jack welcomes guests Johnny O’Keefe, Lorrae Desmond, The Rodenko Brothers. One of the show’s feature spots is a violin duet with Benny, an accomplished violinist, and a young Sydney Musician Cynthia O’Brien a student of the Conservatorium of Music.
